Taking the steps to trading internationally requires a certain level of investment. And, as with anything in business, when we invest, we want to make sure our money is really working for us and generating maximum returns. So how do we improve export sales to achieve better results?
There are a number of ways to boost sales and it will very much depend on your company structure, resources and strategy as to which works best for you. But to give you an outline of the things to consider, we’ve developed a 4 step approach delivered as a series of webinars throughout the year.
The first step gets you thinking about which markets to target. Have you fallen into certain markets because of a particular sale or enquiry but find it’s not quite as profitable as you’d expected? Perhaps it’s not actually the best one for your product or service.
Next we look at your product or service and whether it works in your chosen overseas markets as it is or whether a little tweak here and there might make it more appealing to your target audience.
The third step is looking at delivery and sales channels. What is the best route to market and how can you make it work best for you?
And finally we look at communication. What are the best ways to get your message across to your target audiences, whether they be marketing messages for consumers, technical messages for operators, legal messages for compliance or H&S messages for staff.
If you want to find out more about how you can improve export sales, take a look at our “Selling Overseas” webinar series, where you can join us live and benefit from the opportunity to ask questions relevant to your business.
